This is a fine quality sterling short handle lorgnette from 1860-90 era -  the magnifying/ lorgnon style opera eye glass sports a simple design with engraving on ring, base and lens attachment. w/ spring folding mechanism -  very good condition with easy knob & lock opening - stays tightly closed - magnifying lenses are very clear with only a couple of small scratches (sorry about the dust) – approx. 6" long and 4" across when opened – sterling chain is not the original – this piece is very popular for collectors.
