John Henry De Rinzy was born in Brockville Ontario, raised in Merrickville Ontario and worked for the Public Works and Post Office Departments of the Canadian Government in Ottawa. He gifted many works to family and friends but sold some pieces through my Father’s Art Shop on the old Sparks Street (Confederation Square) in Ottawa.

While mainly working in watercolours,Mr. De Rinzy did apparently dabble in oil.  His watercolours followed a stream, woods, lane and often included ships, early peoples, hunters, etc. What remains is the vibrancy of his colours that survive in virtually all the works in the Public Archives, private homes and Galleries across Canada.
