Welcome to UNIQUE ART ANTIQUES AT SEPTEMBER SPRINGS RANCH

Rebeeca Tobey's art now includes bronze and ceramic sculpture, continuing the tradition of excellence she and her late husband, Gene Tobey, began over 25 years ago. Drawing from their experience with the outdoors, animals, family, love, life, and travel. Rebecca Tobey shares her insights into their creative and collaborative process and shows the creations she and Gene forged during their two-decade partnership.

In 2006 Gene Tobey passed away after battling leukemia. Rebecca Tobey lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and continues their legacy of creation and spirit. As artists, the collaboration of Gene and Rebecca Tobey was a breath of fresh air. The two created a style of art that is entirely unique and distinctive. Because of its ingenious simplification of sculptural imagery, and use of sgraffito, the Tobey design is instantly recognizable.

Gene & Rebecca created their own symbolic language pulling from Native American imagery and their own experiences. The art that Gene and Rebecca Tobey created is a study in contrasts. The animal forms have the feeling of ancient art from humanity's beginnings - rock art and fetishes - yet their surfaces have the look of bold contemporary design.

Gene & Rebecca Tobey’s "SUMMER SOLSTICE" is a stunning, limited edition bronze sculpture of an eagle in flight, displayed on a rotating pedestal. The bold colors of the patina enhance the story-telling sgraffito carvings on the front and back of this unique sculpture. Gene & Rebecca’s "CONFLICT" is a stunning, limited edition bronze sculpture representing struggles. With "CONFLICT" the bold colors of the patina enhance the story-telling sgraffito carvings on this unique sculpture.
