Nym Was Born in Nairobi, Kenya. Her formal training was conducted at the University of London, Institute of Education and the Slade School of Art during the fifties; and in Wales she worked with Josef Herman, the great British contemporary artist. Nym immigrated to Canada in 1966, where she accepted a position as a tutor to both pupils and teachers, and later as an art consultant.

Nym has an international reputation as an artist in many media and diversity of styles. She has exhibited throughout the world; North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Her works have been well received in both private and state collections in numerous counties. Her works are displayed in The National Art Centre, City Hall and the Canadian National Gallery in Ottawa.

Nym never adheres to one style or theme for great periods of time. This results in diverse mediums such as dreamlike oils, exotic batiks and oriental handicraft. She is considered one of the finer batik-makers in our country.
