Barely 16, Kingsley Brown became a reporter and editor at the Canadian Press, before becoming a pioneer of CBC television journalism in Halifax, Montreal and Toronto. He was a familiar face on television screens in the 60’s, covering the civil rights movement in the United States, the U.S. space program, revolts and revolutions in Cuba and South America, as well as political developments at home and in the Soviet Union. He was especially honoured to have been included by Rev. Martin Luther King in the official party that accompanied him to Oslo to accept his Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.
